Biography
Professor Nermine Ehsan has completed her PhD at the age of 31 years from McGill University, Canada and postdoctoral studies from Kings’ College Hospital, London. She has been an Honorary Research Fellow at Institute of Hepatology, UCL, UK. Prof. Ehsan is the Chairman of Pathology Department, where a premier Liver-GIT pathology service is provided. She has published more than 35 papers in reputed journals and supervised more than 30 MSc and MD thesis. She is a member of Egyptian Committee for Pathology Training, Higher Education Committee for Promotion of Pathology Professors, Egyptian Society of Pathology and European Society of Pathology.
Research Interest
Hepatic fibrosis; progression, regression and complications. Chronic HCV-related disease, autoimmune hepatitis and non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases all contribute to liver fibrosis. Hepatocellular carcinoma; Patho-physiology, biology and prognosis characteristics. Pediatric liver pathological conditions including; biliary atresia, congenital hepatic fibrosis, metabolic liver storage diseases and primary liver tumors in children.
