Guy Hugues Fontaine has made 15 original contributions at the inception of cardiac pacemakers in the mid-60s. He has identified ARVD as a side work during the beginning of antiarrhythmic surgery in the late 70s. He has published more than 860 scientific papers including 197 book chapters. He was the Reviewer of 17 journals both in clinical and basic Science. He has also served for 5 years as a Member of the Editorial Board of Circulation. He has been invited to give 11 master’s lectures of 90 minutes each during three weeks in the top universities of China (2014).

Dr. Muhammed Mustahsen Rahman was graduated as a Bachelor of Dentistry from Sindh University Pakistan. He has completed is Ph.D from Hacettepe University Ankara, Turkey in the year 1989. He is a Dean & Professor in RAKCODS Medical & Health Sciences University UAE. Worked as a clinician, teacher and administrative for dental profession. He has a total of 19 publications in national and international journals. The area of study was Correlation between periodontal diseases and other systemic disease. He was awarded from World Medical Council, MEDI BIZ TV, Life Time Achievement Awards for Services, 2014.

His research interest includes Dentistry & Peridontal diseases.

Dr. Ashraf studied medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and awarded Lyons Memorial Medal & McDonnell’s Prize for surgery. He completed his basic surgical training in Dublin before moving to the UK to join the higher surgical training scheme. He was appointed a minimal access upper GI consultant surgeon to Dorset County Hospital before moving to his current position of a Lead Laparoscopic / Oesophago-Gastric Consultant Surgeon to Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. He holds the fellowships of the Dublin and London Royal Colleges as well as American College of Surgeons. Ashraf is an expert in the field of upper GI surgery and holds a distinguished personal chair of surgery from University of South Wales. He is a member of council of the association of the upper GI surgeons of Great Britain & Ireland (AUGIS) and an executive member of Wales Association of Gastroenterology & Endoscopy (WAGE). Ashraf’s main clinical and academic interests revolve around early detection of oesophageal cancer, improving outcome of minimal access oesophageal procedures, standardization of training in minimal access surgery and human reliability analysis to evaluate the quality of laparoscopic antireflux surgery. He runs over 10 research projects encompassing a wide spectrum of technology & basic science research including Barrett’s oesophagus, severe acute pancreatitis, surgical safety & utilization of augmented reality to improve minimal access surgical outcome. Ashraf was tasked by the royal college to design the dash board for surgical outcome indicators for anti-reflux procedures. He has also delivered many prestigious and named lectures both nationally & internationally on Oesophago-Gastric Diseases. He is a visiting professor at several institutions worldwide.

His research interest include management of Barrett’s esophagus, acute severe pancreatitis, laparoscopic surgery for GIST, prevention of injury and standardization of training in laparoscopic biliary and anti-reflux surgery.

Faisal Abdullatif Alnasir is currently Professor and Chairman of the Department of Family & Community Medicine. He was the former Vice President of the Arabian Gulf University and also the former President of the Scientific Council of Family & Community Medicine in the Arab Board for Health Specialties. He was the first and the only Bahraini Physician to obtain MRCGP and FFPH of UK, and also the first Bahraini physician to obtain PhD in Family Medicine. Currently he is a Fellow member of Royal College of General Practitioner (FRCGP) UK, fellow of the College of Public Health, UK, member of the Irish College of General Practitioner (ICGP), Ireland and is member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is also the General Secretary of the International Society for the History of Islamic Medicine and advisor for the EMRO WHO. With regards to his post graduate education Prof Alnasir completed his PhD in Family Medicine from Glasgow University, Scotland, in 1997, his Family Medicine specialty from AUB, Beirut in 1984, and M.B.B.ch from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt in 1979. Alnasir received many awards and honors including life membership and appreciation of Excellence from various organizations such the Pakistan Academy of Family Physicians in March 2015 The World Organization Congress of Family doctors (WONCA) as the Global Family Doctor of the month, the Arab Council for Health Specialties and the Sudanese National Council. He recently was also honored by the Bahrain Parents Caring Society with the prize of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Alkhalifa as the most distinguished Bahraini in parent’s caring and received Gold Medal in the Education Day of Bahrain offered by H.E Amir of Bahrain. Faisal has more than 66 publications in various fields of Family medicine, medical education and history of Islamic Medicine published in local, regional and international refereed journals and his extensive work in research was acknowledged by receiving many research prizes from the Bahrain Medical Society and other institutions. His main research interests are in the field of elderly care, infant feeding, hereditary blood diseases, medical education and history of medicine. He has also published three books entitled:  "You and your child" that elaborates issues related to mother and childcare.  “Scattered Papers” In health and Culture  “Kefah wa Najah” He is editor in many national and international journals and during his carrier he has been effortlessly promoting the discipline of Family Medicine in the Arab world.

His Research Interest include Hypertension, Sleep Disturbance in Children, Properties of lactation,Biological changes in the elderly, Perception of schoolteachers about common Health Problem etc.

Dr. Awatif Juma Al Bahar is Medical Director, Senior Consultant, Obstetrics/Gynaecology, Reproductive Endocrinology at the Dubai Gynaecology & Fertility Centre, DUBAI HEALTH AUTHORITY. After completing her graduation, she specialized in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from the German Board, Koln and has a membership in Endocrine and Infertility from Academic University in Bonn. Dr. Awatif had been selected in 2002 in Dubai Excellency Programme. Her name is mentioned in the U.A.E Book of Special Personalities of All Fields (i.e. Medicine, Politics, Art etc.). She has been awarded by his highness Amro Mosa in 2004 as to be the leader in medicine and social services. She was awarded as hero of health care in 2012 by his highness ruler of Ajman. She has held multiple posts in various capacities in the OBS/GYN and is currently the director of the IVF Board of the Ministry of Health of UAE. She is the Chairperson of the Emirates Obs/Gyne & Fertility Forum (EOFF) and a regular speaker on U.A.E activities in mother and child health via media – television, radio, ladies association, universities etc. She has many publications on polycystic ovaries and infertility.

Her research interest includes Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim MBBch, MSc, MD (PhD), FRCP (Glasgow) is a Senior Consultant Cardiologist and Head of Medical Department at Kuwait Hospital (Ministry of Health hospital ) in Sharjah .He is also an Associate Professor at College of Medicine, Sharjah University. He has been the Technical Director of Kuwait hospital since March 2006 till Nov 2009. Prior to that he was senior Consultant Cardiologist at Al-Qassimi Hospital (Ministry of Health Hospital) in Sharjah since 1999. He completed his MBBCh in Cairo, Egypt in 1980 (from Cairo University). He had his residency in Cairo University Hospitals till he got his Master degree in Cardiology in 1986. He continued to work in Cairo University Hospitals till he got his Doctorate degree (PhD) in 1992.During that period he got echocardiography training in Erasmus University in Holland. Since then he had been working as a Consultant Cardiologist and lecturer in Cairo University Hospital till he joined Al-Qassimi Hospital in 1999. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in UK (Glasgow). He is a member of multiple cardiac societies and associations. He has been participating in many national and international research studies, trials and registries in the field of cardiovascular diseases. He had co- authored many publications which have appeared in peer-reviewed journals and on PubMed (on line). He is an active member of the research and ethics committee of MOH. He is involved extensively in national and international cardiology conferences, symposiums and workshops either as a speaker or as chairman. He is well recognized from MOH and from Sharjah University for his activities in teaching and CME .He is an examiner for the final exit exam (MBBch) at College of Medicine, Sharjah University. He is a member of the cardiovascular preventive group of Emirates Cardiac Society. He has vast clinical experience in all fields of cardiology with special interest in hypertension and heart failure.

Dr. Jehad Al Sukhun is a British / Jordanian oral and maxillofacial surgeon with a Master’s degree in oral and maxillofacial surgery from the University of Manchester and a PhD from the University of London in the United Kingdom. He has gained a number of fellowships and professional memberships in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia. During his PhD studies at the University of London, he obtained in-depth knowledge and experience in maxillofacial Implantology and computer aided surgery using Finite Element Analysis. He worked at well reputed academic University Hospitals in the UK e.g. Royal Manchester University Hospital, Royal Surrey County Hospital and a UAE University College, Dubai. He has gained significant clinical experience in specialized dentistry, Implantology, oncology, trauma, Orthognathic surgery, reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery. He developed particular interest on the use of bioresorbable plates for reconstructing orbital fractures. During his work in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery, Professor Al-Sukhun produced more than 45 papers published in international peer review journals. Professor Al Sukhun sits on the editorial board of a number of well recognized journals in Oral and maxillofacial surgery.

His research interest includes Oral Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthognathic Surgery & Oncology.

Dr. Alka Ahuja is working as a Professor of Pharmaceutics at the Deptt. of Pharmacy, Oman Medical College, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman since 2005. She has about 30 years of rich experience in teaching and research. She is a recipient of several Awards and Honors including University Gold Medals for securing top position at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, Indian Drugs Manufacturers Association - G.P.Nair Award and “Career Award for young teachers” by All India Council for Technical Education. She has won several awards for best scientific research publications and presentations. Besides publishing 11 books in the fields of Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutical management and drug regulatory affairs she has contributed five chapters on drug delivery in internationally acclaimed books. She has more than 160 research publications in peer reviewed journals. Besides supervising 15 Ph. D Thesis, she has guided more than 35 Postgraduate students. She has worked on 10 projects funded by national and international agencies. She also worked on Consultancy projects financed by a Scottish company. She has 6 patents to her credit. Besides being an Invited speaker at several National and International conferences held in India, Oman, US, UK, Holland, Turkey and Dubai etc., she has chaired scientific sessions in several national and international conferences. She established a school of research on Mucoadhesive drug delivery systems and her work has been presented in various international conferences held in India, Paris, SanDiego, Utah, The Netherlands, Scotland, Sydney, Boston, Hawaii, Miami etc. Besides being a member of several editorial boards, she is a reviewer for number of national/international professional journals. She has chaired a number of professional committees including Research committee.

Dr. Iqbal Bukhari is a highly motivated professor and consultant dermatologist with more than 25 years of good experience in many dermatological diseases and their management. Her Special interests include laser therapy, phototherapy, Dermatopathology, cosmetic dermatology and study of genetic diseases. She has many publications in various international medical journals.

Her special interests include General dermatology, lecturing Primary health care physicians, Dermatology Specialty etc.

Prof. Mayyada Wazaify is currently working as a professor of Pharmacy Practice at The University of Jordan. She has worked as a visiting lecturer at The University of Bath, UK (2012-2015). She has completed her PhD from Queen's University of Belfast, UK in 2003. She has published more than 35 papers and has been serving as an editorial board member in reputed international journals and conducted and supervised more than 50 research projects in Jordan and abroad in the field of clinical and pharmacy practice, particularly prescription and OTC drug misuse and abuse.

Her research interest includes Pharmacy Practice, Clinical Pharmacy, OTC drug misuse and abuse.

Dr. Maged El-Setouhy is a professor of Public Health at Ain Shams University (Cairo – Egypt) and the previous Vice Chair of the REC of the Ain Shams School of Medicine. In addition he is the Scientific Director of the Substance Abuse Research Center (SARC) at Jazan University (Jazan – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). 2001 – 2011 He was the chair of the regional program reviewing group of the WHO-EMRO for the Regional program for Elimination of Lymphatic filariasis and a member of the Global Alliance team for the its Global program. Professor El-Setouhy has worked in man y scientific projects funded by the NIH since 1981. He was also able to get two Bell & Melinda Gates foundation projects. 2004 – 2008 -He was the Egyptian coordinator of the Research Ethics training program (HRETIE). He has many international publications and he is a reviewer of many Journals especially in the area of Substance Abuse and Research Ethics.

His research interest includes Public Health & Epidemiology.

Dr. Rahmani graduated with an MD from Damascus University Medical School in 1987. He completed his pediatric residency at UMDNJ- Robert Wood Johnson medical School in New Jersey, USA, and a Fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Temple University Children Hospital In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and Neonatology. Dr. Rahmani joined Tawam Hospital in UAE in 2004 He became the Chairman of Pediatric department in 2010. Dr. Rahmani is the Program Director of the Neonatology Fellowship. In 2012, Dr. Rahmani became the Medical Director of SEHA Pediatric Service Line Council organizing the pediatric services in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. He is a regional trainer in Neonatal Resuscitation Program of AAP, and an instructor in PALS. Dr. Rahmani is a Clinical Professor in Pediatrics at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at UAE University.

His research interest includes Neonatal Intensive Care.

Dr. AB Rani Samsudin completed Bachelor of Dental Surgery from University of Baghdad in the year 1983. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England 1992. His professional activities include conducting Continuing Education Programs for Dental Practitioners, Surgeons, Charity medical missions for developing countries. He is a Member of the Emirate Medical Association. He is a Fellow of the International Associations of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons His Awards Recognitions- Fellow of International College of Dentist USA 2005 Fellow of the French Academy of Dental Sciences 2012 Services

His research interest includes Dentistry, Orthopedic Surgery & Plastic Surgery.
